Use this wagering calculator to turn a stated bonus condition into a counted-wagering target, subtract progress already credited, and account for a game’s contribution rate. You can also estimate paid rounds at one permitted stake. Enter the specific promotion’s terms rather than guessing from its headline. The result is turnover arithmetic: it is not a deposit requirement, a loss forecast, a withdrawal amount or an instruction to keep playing.

Calculate a wagering requirement
Use one currency throughout. Dollar amounts below are formatted as AUD. Enter the basis and multiplier stated in the specific coupon.
The calculator does not connect to a casino account or read its progress counter. Enter credited progress manually. If the rules use a different basis, separate wagering stages or an unusual contribution method, ask the operator to explain those conditions before applying a simplified calculation.
Compare welcome offers and their stated terms
These general welcome listings have separate eligibility, game and withdrawal conditions. The calculator does not automatically import or verify their requirements. Confirm the actual award and current terms before entering figures.

What a wagering requirement measures
A wagering requirement is a specified total of qualifying play associated with a promotion. It measures stakes that count towards the condition, not how many times the account balance must visibly rise or how much profit must be made.
The UK Gambling Commission’s glossary distinguishes bonus funds, deposit balances, wagering requirements and promotional restrictions. Those definitions are useful terminology within their own jurisdiction; they do not make an overseas offer lawful in Australia or establish universal account rights.
Keep three quantities separate: the amount used as the basis, the counted-wagering target, and the actual stakes needed at the selected contribution. A fourth quantity, the balance remaining after play, cannot be obtained from those inputs alone. The outcomes of the games still matter.
Choose the correct amount before multiplying
Read the complete sentence containing the wagering condition. “25× bonus” and “25× deposit plus bonus” are different calculations even when the deposit, award and headline multiplier match. For promotional spins, a condition may instead refer to the actual winnings credited after those spins.
Bonus only: $2,250
An invented $90 award at 25× the bonus gives $90 × 25 = $2,250 in counted wagering. The $60 deposit is not part of this example’s basis.
Deposit plus bonus: $3,750
With a $60 qualifying deposit and $90 award, 25× the combined amount gives ($60 + $90) × 25 = $3,750.
Spin winnings: $186
If actual promotional spin winnings are $12.40 and the stated condition is 15× those winnings, the target is $12.40 × 15 = $186.
These are invented arithmetic examples, not current offers or a statement about permissible terms in any jurisdiction. The choice of basis changes the obligation before contribution or progress is considered.
Enter the actual bonus, not its advertised maximum
A deposit-match percentage describes how an award is calculated; the advertised cap is not necessarily the amount received. For example, 150% of a fictional $60 qualifying deposit is $90. If the same imaginary promotion caps the award at $80, enter $80 as the bonus rather than $90 or the larger marketing headline.
The calculator takes the resulting award as an input. It does not determine eligibility, apply a code, select a deposit-match tier or decide whether a payment method qualifies. Confirm those details in the account and terms before calculating.
For a staged welcome package, do not combine all advertised deposit stages unless the conditions explicitly create one combined requirement. Each credited award may need a separate calculation. Our welcome-bonus guide explains the difference between a package headline and the award attached to a particular deposit.
Convert game contribution into actual stakes
A 100% contribution means each eligible dollar staked supplies one dollar of counted progress. At 20%, an eligible $1 stake supplies $0.20 of progress. The required stakes therefore increase when the contribution falls.
Use the decimal form of the percentage: actual stakes needed = remaining counted wagering ÷ (contribution ÷ 100). If a target has $1,800 of counted progress left at 20% contribution, the corresponding stakes are $1,800 ÷ 0.20 = $9,000. Multiplying by 20% instead would answer how much progress a stake produces, not how many stakes remain.
A zero-contribution game cannot reduce the requirement, so the tool rejects 0%. Excluded play may also breach the promotion rather than merely contribute nothing. Verify eligibility separately; a positive number in the contribution field is not permission to play an otherwise prohibited game.
Subtract progress already counted, not the current balance
The credited-progress field expects the casino’s already-adjusted wagering progress. It is not the account balance, money deposited, total prizes or the raw amount of earlier bets. Do not apply the contribution adjustment to the same progress twice.
For the fictional $90 bonus at 25×, the counted target is $2,250. If the promotion counter already credits $450, remaining counted wagering is $1,800. At a future contribution of 20%, that leaves $9,000 in actual stakes under the simplified assumptions.
If your notes show $400 of eligible past stakes at 25% contribution, the corresponding credited progress is $100. Enter $100, unless the operator’s actual counter records a different amount that needs explaining. A balance of $100 does not establish that same progress: balance and wagering are different ledgers.
Handle different contributions in separate segments
The contribution field applies one assumed rate to the remaining play. It does not retroactively change the rate of all previous games, and it cannot represent several changing rates at once without a separate breakdown.
Imagine $500 of eligible stakes at 100% contributes $500, while $400 at 25% contributes $100. Combined credited progress is $600. Against an invented $1,000 target, $400 remains. If all future eligible play contributes 50%, the remaining actual stakes are $800.
Keep each segment’s game, contribution, stake total and credited amount. If rates change between titles or modes, calculate the segments separately rather than averaging percentages without weighting the stakes. The low-wagering guide discusses why a small headline multiple can still create a substantial requirement.
What the optional paid-round estimate means
Enter a single total stake only if the promotion permits it. The tool divides the remaining stakes by that amount and rounds up to a whole paid round. It assumes the same contribution and stake throughout.
For $9,000 of remaining stakes at $0.75 per round, the arithmetic gives 12,000 paid rounds. This is not a prediction that the balance will last for those rounds, a recommendation to play them or a time-to-completion forecast. Results, account restrictions and changed settings can prevent that scenario from occurring.
Use the total currency cost of an eligible paid round, not a credit denomination or an isolated line stake. An in-game feature can include several animations without several new paid stakes. A separate purchase can cost far more than the displayed base wager; check exclusions before including it. Our controls guide explains how to locate the full stake.
Read rounding and zero results carefully
The calculator rounds remaining stakes up to the next cent and paid-round estimates up to a whole round. Its arithmetic does not replicate every operator’s per-bet contribution or rounding method.
For an invented one-cent counted requirement at 3% contribution, the exact remaining stakes are one-third of a dollar. The displayed amount rounds up to $0.34. At a three-cent stake, the whole-round estimate is 12 rounds. The operator’s actual qualifying-progress counter remains the record to reconcile.
If credited progress equals the calculated target, remaining progress displays zero. If it exceeds the target, the tool also asks you to check the inputs and counter. Neither result verifies that the promotion is complete or the balance is withdrawable. A 0× condition can be entered mathematically, but other eligibility or account restrictions can still exist.
Use actual promotional winnings when that is the stated basis
When a condition specifically applies to free-spin winnings, use the actual award credited after the promotional spins resolve. The number of spins multiplied by their stake value is not the same as their winnings.
For instance, 20 promotional spins at $0.10 represent $2 of nominal spin stakes. If their actual winnings are $12.40, a stated winnings-based requirement uses $12.40, not $2. The tool’s winnings option exists for this distinction; it does not forecast what those spins will pay.
Do not confuse promotional spins with a naturally triggered feature inside a game. Their conditions come from different places. Our free-spins no-deposit guide explains promotional eligibility and cashout restrictions, while how pokies work covers game-level features and settled awards.
Check the restrictions that arithmetic cannot verify
A calculated turnover does not establish maximum permitted stakes, eligible titles, payment-method rules, expiry, identity requirements or bonus cashout limits. Those conditions can change whether an otherwise correct sum is useful.
The UK ASA and CAP guidance on bonus information identifies deposit, wagering, withdrawal and eligibility conditions as potentially significant. It is a UK advertising reference, not a statement that the rules are identical elsewhere.
Keep the exact offer and its conditions with the calculation. The same brand can have several promotions with different bases. Do not take a welcome offer’s multiplier and apply it to a reload, cashback or existing-player coupon without checking. See our reload and cashback explanations for those distinctions.
Required turnover is not money to deposit or guaranteed loss
A $9,000 wagering estimate does not mean you must deposit $9,000. The same funds may be staked repeatedly after awards. Equally, it does not mean that a small initial balance will necessarily fund the whole requirement.
The calculator deliberately does not estimate a final balance or a chance of completing the promotion. RTP, volatility, the distribution of awards, bonus-wallet rules and stopping conditions would all matter to a more complex model. A turnover total alone cannot produce those answers.
Read the separate RTP and volatility guides for the difference between an average return and an uncertain path. Do not increase a spending limit or continue beyond a time boundary just because a progress bar remains unfinished. Arithmetic does not remove the risk of loss.
If the calculator and the promotion counter disagree
First compare the basis, actual award, multiplier, rate and credited-progress definition. Check whether the operator shows total progress, remaining progress or raw stakes. Also check whether pending rounds or features have settled and whether all wagers were eligible.
Keep the promotion name or code, dated conditions, relevant round identifiers, timestamps with time zone, stake totals and screenshots. Ask support to explain which entries counted and how contribution was applied. Do not send passwords, security codes or unnecessary identity material with a calculation query.
Do not cancel an active bonus merely to test what happens to the balance. Ask what cancellation would remove first. The UK guidance on deposit and bonus balances illustrates why those balances require separate treatment within that jurisdiction. Our withdrawal guide covers payment stages after play.
Australian access and support
A functioning calculator or clearly stated offer does not establish that a service can lawfully provide online pokies in Australia. ACMA identifies online pokies and casino-style services among illegal online services and explains the risks of overseas providers. Website access or a foreign licence does not establish Australian authorisation.
If gambling causes stress, borrowing or difficulty stopping, confidential Australian support is available on 1800 858 858. The Department of Social Services lists telephone and online help, including support for people affected by someone else’s gambling.
Wagering calculator FAQs
What figures do I need for a wagering calculation?
Find the actual amount used as the basis, the stated multiplier, game contribution and progress already credited. Use a qualifying deposit only when the condition includes it, and use actual promotional spin winnings when that is the stated basis. A permitted total stake is optional for estimating paid rounds. Keep the currency consistent and retain the exact promotion terms with the inputs.
How is bonus-only wagering different from deposit plus bonus?
Bonus-only multiplies the credited award. Deposit plus bonus multiplies the qualifying deposit and award added together. In the fictional example, a $90 bonus at 25× creates $2,250 of counted wagering; including a $60 deposit raises the same-multiplier target to $3,750. Choose the basis stated in the condition rather than assuming the headline multiplier always applies to the same amount.
Why does a lower contribution make the required stakes larger?
Only the stated share of an eligible stake counts as progress. At 20% contribution, a $1 stake credits $0.20. Divide remaining counted wagering by 0.20 to obtain the corresponding actual stakes; do not multiply it by 20%. A zero-contribution game cannot reduce the requirement, and an excluded game may also breach the promotion’s conditions rather than simply count for nothing.
What belongs in the credited-progress field?
Enter eligible progress already counted after contribution adjustments, normally as shown by the promotion counter. Do not enter the current balance, deposit, prizes or unadjusted past stakes. If $400 of eligible wagers at 25% contribution has been credited, that represents $100 of counted progress. Subtracting raw stakes instead would overstate completion, while adjusting the same credited progress again would count the contribution twice.
Does the result tell me how much to deposit or what I can withdraw?
No. It estimates a wagering target and remaining stakes under the entered assumptions. It does not predict game outcomes, how long a balance will last, losses, eligibility or a withdrawable amount. Paid-round estimates are not recommendations to play those rounds. Maximum stakes, expiry, cashout caps, verification and account rules must be checked separately, even when remaining counted progress displays zero.
Can I use this for free-spin winnings or several different games?
Use the winnings basis only when the actual condition refers to promotional spin winnings, and enter the credited winnings rather than the number of spins or their nominal stake value. For different contribution rates, calculate past progress in separate segments and add the credited amounts. The single contribution field then models one assumed future rate; it cannot apply several changing rates at once.
